Campanian–Paleocene Jaworzynka Formation in its type area (Magura Nappe, Outer Carpathians)

The Campanian–Paleocene Jaworzynka Formation, a part of the Magura Nappe succession in Polish Outer Carpathians, is described terms its detailed litho- and biostratigraphy. formation stretches along marginal Siary Unit, from stratotype area Silesian Beskid Mts up to Mszana Dolna Wyspowy Mts. Its equivalent Moravskoslezske Beskydy the Czech Republic Solaň Formation. In area, displays complex structure. We distinguish four lithological units, i.e. Biotite Sandstone Shale (I), (II), Mutne Member (III) Thin-bedded Turbidite (IV) provide first biostratigraphy particular units. The first unit forms most prominent formation. It was deposited Middle Campanian–earliest Maastrichtian within upper Caudammina gigantea Zone lower Rzehakina inclusa  Zone. second occurs only locally age limited Maastrichtian, third composed thick-bedded sandstones that some parts may form more than half of total thickness Late Maastrichtian–Danian placed of the fissistomata Zone. usually covered by a thin package thin-bedded turbiditic sandstone shales Danian–Thanetian with foraminifera the
